Jinlong Electric Motor: Building the Bay Area Economy and Expanding Openness to the Outside World

Pan Jianhua, Secretary of the District Party Committee, emphasized at the Conference on Opening-Up that it is essential to firmly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on opening up to the outside world, as well as the spirit of the provincial and municipal conferences on opening-up. He urged the district to steadfastly uphold the principle of strengthening the region through openness, seize the opportunities presented by this new wave of globalization, boldly take the lead, and stay ahead of the curve. By promoting high-level openness, the district aims to drive high-quality development and make greater contributions toward Taizhou's vision of becoming a "key nodal city along the Belt and Road Initiative and an internationally renowned bay area city." In recent years, Jinqing Town, which has thrived by embracing its coastal location, has fully leveraged the advantages of its open and dynamic bay area environment. With a pioneering spirit of innovation and a relentless drive for progress, the town has cultivated a robust, high-quality open economy, earning recognition for its ambitious goal of building "a beautiful new coastal city—Jinqing."

Pan Jianhua, Secretary of the District Party Committee, emphasized at the Conference on Opening-Up that it is imperative to firmly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on opening up to the outside world, as well as the spirit of the province-wide and city-wide conferences on opening-up. He urged the district to steadfastly uphold the principle of strengthening the region through openness, seize the opportunities presented by this new round of globalization with determination, boldly take the lead, and stay ahead of the curve. By promoting high-level openness, we can drive high-quality development and make greater contributions toward Taizhou's vision of becoming a "key nodal city along the Belt and Road Initiative and an internationally renowned bay area city."

In recent years, Jinqing Town, which thrives by the sea, has fully leveraged the Bay Area's advantages in open development. High-quality products drive new competitive advantages

The electromechanical industry is one of Jinqing Town's pillar industries. Today, as the world strives for "higher efficiency and lower energy consumption,"一批批 internationally competitive, first-class products have emerged onto the global stage, earning recognition in international markets.

"A new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is gathering momentum. In the face of a complex and ever-changing economic landscape, to achieve breakthroughs, we must intelligently upgrade our traditional motor products, drive product innovation, and ultimately ensure the sustainable growth of our company." As a specialized enterprise dedicated to motor research, development, manufacturing, and providing low-carbon, energy-efficient system solutions for motors, Ye Jinwu, Chairman of Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd., shared with us that in recent years, Jinlong Motor has been steadily advancing automation projects aimed at replacing human labor with machines. This has enabled the company to build intelligent, integrated, and fully automated production lines, while simultaneously pursuing innovation in its product offerings. On one hand, Jinlong is building on its existing foundation to develop ultra-efficient motors through continuous technological innovation; on the other hand, it’s leveraging smart transformation initiatives to introduce cutting-edge, intelligent features into its conventional motor products. Currently, the motor products manufactured by the company are exported to more than 80 countries and regions, including Europe and North America, and are widely used across key industries such as air compressors, water pumps, fans, machinery, and gearboxes. With export volumes consistently ranking among the industry leaders, Jinlong Motor has firmly established itself as a pioneering force in China’s motor export sector.

With strong capabilities, last year at the 4th General Meeting of the China-Germany Industrial Cities Alliance, Jinlong Electric Motor and Germany's AC Engine Company also reached a strategic intent for business and trade cooperation. The two partners will achieve "mutual complementarity of strengths"—AC Engine Company values Jinlong Electric Motor's robust manufacturing foundation, while Jinlong Electric Motor, in turn, leverages AC Engine Company to further penetrate the European market.

It is understood that Jinqing Town has a total of 70 export-oriented enterprises. In recent years, the town has taken optimizing and upgrading its traditional industries as a key breakthrough, providing support for corporate R&D investment, technological upgrades, and equipment modernization. This initiative has helped drive the coordinated advancement of industrial and foreign trade upgrades, resulting in a total of 185 million yuan invested in technological transformation during the first half of this year.

Established enterprises seek new opportunities for collaboration

“Success is achieved through talent, and achievements are broadened by it.” Talented individuals are the primary driving force behind development—only by nurturing world-class innovators can a region stay at the forefront of its industry. This year, Jinqing Town took the lead across the entire district by launching the Chief Talent Officer Cultivation Program, implementing the 40 new talent policies, and systematically advancing talent development across various fields, all while striving to create the optimal ecosystem that attracts and retains top talent.

As a veteran player in the cleaning machine industry, Zhejiang Anlu Cleaning Machine Co., Ltd. sells 90% of its products to over 120 countries worldwide. Focusing on product innovation, the company is actively attracting top talent by enhancing employee benefits and addressing the challenges of recruiting and retaining skilled professionals. "Talent is the backbone of our company's growth," says Xiao Ying, a company staff member, "and we adopt a dual approach—both bringing in external expertise and sending our own employees abroad for advanced training." Each year, the company carefully selects suitable employees for overseas study programs, establishing a robust talent-development system in the process. Additionally, it has recruited industry-leading experts and set up a dedicated R&D center, firmly committing to technological excellence and fostering independent innovation. Leveraging its talented workforce, the company has so far secured more than 200 nationally authorized patents, including 6 groundbreaking invention patents. In March of this year, Zhejiang Anlu Cleaning Machine Co., Ltd. showcased its latest products at the Cologne Hardware Fair in Germany—and again in May at the Las Vegas Hardware Show. "We actively participate in hardware expos of all sizes across the globe," Xiao Ying shares with us. "These exhibitions serve as invaluable platforms for forging new partnerships, and both events this year yielded impressive results." Beyond trade shows, the company is also vigorously expanding its presence in cross-border e-commerce, actively pursuing international collaborations to broaden its sales channels. "We’ve established official stores on several major global e-commerce platforms," Xiao Ying explains, "making it easy for distributors to purchase our products directly through online wholesale services."

Business-friendly services attract new enterprises

The Huanglang Industrial Park is a vital industrial platform for our region's industrial economy, covering an area of approximately 1,000 mu and hosting more than 100 enterprises, with a total workforce of over 3,000 employees. However, due to the park's remote location—situated far from the main urban area—it has struggled to keep pace with the development of essential living amenities. As a result, issues such as employee housing and dining remain inadequately addressed.

Once upon a time, as you walked through the industrial park, you could hear complaints from employees of various enterprises everywhere. Neglect in management had led to an increasingly deteriorating environment within the park, while also giving rise to numerous safety hazards. After thoroughly investigating the situation, Jinqing Town decided to implement property-based management in the Huanglang Industrial Park and has already formulated the "Huanglang Industrial Park Management Measures (Trial)," which have been distributed to businesses for feedback and further refinement.

After understanding the specific needs of the enterprise, Jinqing Town leveraged the strength and advantages of the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce by establishing Taizhou Jinshang Investment Management Co., Ltd. The company is jointly owned by the Jinqing Town Chamber of Commerce and features a board of directors and a supervisory board composed of the chamber’s executive vice chairpersons. This entity will manage investments, upgrade and enhance the park’s infrastructure, and implement closed-loop园区 management to create a more attractive and well-maintained environment. Additionally, the company will develop collectively retained land within the park, building a "Workers' Home" that provides employees with standardized spaces for entertainment, leisure, and shopping.

“Leveraging the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce platform to innovate the park management service model is also our response to the ‘delegation, regulation, and service’ initiative and the demand for ‘mom-style’ services,” said Chen Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee and Town Mayor. “The Huanglang Industrial Park serves as a pilot project; moving forward, we will comprehensively enhance the overall capacity and service level for industrial enterprises across Jinqing—this is a crucial step in effectively implementing and advancing the upgrading of traditional industries.”

Plant a paulownia tree, and you’ll attract the phoenix to come. Jinqing Town is putting into practice its "mom-style" service model, centered around the core concept of "Five Hearts to Retain Businesses," while deepening reforms in the area of "at most one visit" for administrative services. This initiative aims to create a superior, business-friendly environment, drawing more enterprises to the town to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
