Ye Jinwu: Caring for employees in need is a company's social responsibility.

“Thank you! Thank you!” Old Luo repeatedly expressed his gratitude after receiving the New Year gifts. He said, “I’ve been working at the factory for five or six years. After learning about my family situation, the boss not only provided the year-end bonus but also gave me daily necessities and cash.” What left Old Luo deeply moved was the recently launched “Warm Winter, Loving Employees” campaign in Jinqing Town. Since the initiative kicked off, entrepreneurs from the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce have delivered essential living supplies and charitable donations to employees facing financial hardships within their companies, wishing them a joyful Spring Festival. This act is both an act of charity and a sense of responsibility. “Previously, we’d only extended our charitable efforts to rural areas, assisting villagers in need—but we overlooked the employees within our own businesses who were struggling,” explained the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce.

What has left Lao Luo deeply grateful is the recently launched "Warm Winter, Loving Employees" campaign in Jinqing Town. Since its inception, entrepreneurs from the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce have delivered essential living supplies and charitable donations to employees facing financial hardships at their companies, wishing them a joyful Spring Festival.

It's both charity and responsibility.

"Previously, we’ve always focused our charitable efforts on rural areas, helping villagers in need—but we’ve overlooked the employees within our own companies who are struggling," said Ye Jinwu, Chairman of the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd. He emphasized that the company’s growth and success would not have been possible without the dedication of every single employee. Yet, unfortunately, some employees have fallen into poverty—either due to illness or challenging family circumstances. Providing them with meaningful support, letting them feel the warmth and care of the company, is not only a corporate responsibility but also a heartfelt way for businesses to give back to their loyal workforce."

Actually, several months ago, the enterprises under the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce had already been identifying and reaching out to employees facing financial difficulties. Employees either filled out registration forms themselves or had them completed by colleagues on their behalf. These forms were then reviewed by the companies and the town-level Federation of Industry and Commerce to verify their accuracy. Ultimately, the chamber’s member companies selected about 40 employees in need and added them to the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce’s list of recipients for holiday gifts and heartfelt wishes.

Certainly, Ye Jinwu noted that the 40 employees facing varying degrees of hardship are not the only ones experiencing difficulties across the enterprises affiliated with the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce. He emphasized that while this event serves as an inspiring initiative, it is ultimately up to each individual company to take concrete steps in supporting their own struggling employees. Therefore, the Chamber encourages businesses to organize their own activities, enabling them to assist even more workers in need.

Charity will never stop.

This year marks the first year of the "Warm Winter Hearts, Loving Care for Employees" initiative—and it’s also just a trial run for the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce.

“Currently, more and more socially responsible entrepreneurs are paying attention to public welfare and charitable activities, and they’re eager to generously contribute their resources to support these causes,” said Ye Jinwu. He added that in recent years, Party committees and governments at all levels have provided substantial support to businesses. Amidst this supportive environment, many companies have chosen to give back to society through philanthropy and charity, inspiring even more entrepreneurs to join the effort of helping those in need. Moving forward, the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce will continue to organize a wide range of vibrant and meaningful public welfare and charitable initiatives.

It is understood that the Jinqing Chamber of Commerce plans to launch a scholarship program for outstanding but financially disadvantaged students this July, and will also carry out a charitable initiative at the end of the year to support left-behind children and elderly individuals living alone. More and more philanthropic activities are being scheduled, as Ye Jinwu stated: "The Jinqing Chamber of Commerce's public welfare and charitable efforts will never stop."
