Taizhou Manufacturing Legion: Setting Industry Standards and Leading "Made in Zhejiang"
In recent years, Taizhou's manufacturing sector has undergone innovative transformation, giving rise to several industry-leading enterprises. These companies have actively established a set of internationally advanced and domestically first-class industry standards, driving the overall development of "Made in Zhejiang" within their respective fields. At Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd., production lines are operating at full capacity. According to the company’s leadership, since the beginning of this year, the "7+Black" production model has become the new norm—and it’s precisely this ultra-efficient three-phase asynchronous motor that has brought the company a steady stream of lucrative orders. Liang Xianzeng, Deputy General Manager of Production at Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd., explains: "Its ultra-efficiency is primarily reflected in its ability to deliver significantly better performance compared to our standard products."
In recent years, Taizhou's manufacturing sector has seen the emergence of several industry-leading enterprises through innovative transformation. These companies have actively established a set of internationally advanced and domestically first-class industry standards, driving the overall development of "Made in Zhejiang" in their respective fields.
At Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd., all production lines are operating at full capacity. According to the company’s leader, since the beginning of this year, the "7+Black" production model has become the new normal—driving a surge in orders for the company, thanks largely to the ultra-efficient three-phase asynchronous motor currently rolling off the assembly line.
Liang Xianzeng, Deputy General Manager of Production at Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd., stated: "Its ultra-high efficiency is primarily reflected in the fact that it outperforms our conventional motors by 3 to 5 percentage points. Additionally, features like noise and vibration are also one level higher compared to standard motors. Currently, this technology represents the most advanced solution available—both domestically and internationally—in the motor industry."
Thanks to its mastery of the key technologies behind ultra-efficient three-phase asynchronous motors, Jinlong has now become an internationally advanced and domestically first-class motor manufacturing enterprise. However, becoming a leader in the industry wasn’t achieved overnight—several years ago, Jinlong launched a major technological upgrade, investing over 60 million yuan to introduce advanced production robots. As a result, the company has reached industry-leading levels in areas such as technology R&D, process precision, and product quality. Last year, Jinlong actively joined Zhejiang’s initiative to build the "Made in Zhejiang" brand, taking the lead in formulating the Zhejiang-made group standard for three-phase asynchronous motors. This standard has since been implemented across all motor manufacturers in the province, driving a significant overall improvement in Zhejiang’s motor industry.
Ye Jinwu, Chairman of Zhejiang Jinlong Motor Co., Ltd., said: "Our Jinlong standards carry significant influence among domestic peers. The very purpose of establishing these standards is to ensure that Jinlong sets the benchmark first—once our standards are released, every company will follow them, enabling us to collectively elevate innovation and advance the motor industry as a whole."
Zhejiang Tianxin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. also boasts industry-leading technology. Recently, the company took the lead in drafting the "Pharmaceutical Grade Vitamin B6" standard, which was unanimously approved by a panel of experts, making it the province's first-ever group standard under the "Made in Zhejiang" initiative specifically for pharmaceuticals. Building upon the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, this standard draws on currently valid and advanced international benchmarks from Europe, the UK, the U.S., and other regions, while aligning with the latest global trends in pharmaceutical quality control. As a result, it provides a clear and actionable framework for practitioners within our province's pharmaceutical industry.
Zhang Ping, Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Tianxin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.: "Vitamin B6 has a wide range of applications, spanning pharmaceuticals, food, and animal feed industries. That’s why, when developing our standards, we first prioritized ensuring the project meets cutting-edge criteria. Our key indicators are already on par with the best in China and advanced internationally, enabling us to encourage similar companies to proactively benchmark themselves against us and identify areas for improvement."
In recent years, many enterprises in our city have become industry-leading companies thanks to their cutting-edge technology and innovative products. As of now, 23 Taizhou-based manufacturing firms—including Zhejiang Xingxing Home Appliance Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Shuanghuan Transmission Machinery Co., Ltd., and Jack Sewing Machine Co., Ltd.—have participated in the "Made in Zhejiang" standard-setting and revision initiative, contributing to the development of 19 standards. Both the number of standards released and the number of projects approved place these companies third in the province. Notably, the product standards they’ve issued—for items such as precision CNC lathes and turning centers, rail transit connectors, and automotive cylindrical gears—have all reached internationally advanced and domestically first-class levels.
In recent years, our city has accelerated the development of manufacturing, continuously enhancing the overall quality image and competitiveness of locally produced "Made in Zhejiang" products. We have actively encouraged enterprises to participate in the "Made in Zhejiang" Standard Enhancement Project and contribute to the establishment of the "Made in Zhejiang" standard system. Additionally, companies are being urged to take the lead in shaping both international and domestic cutting-edge standards, striving to cultivate a group of "Made in Zhejiang" brands this year—brands that boast exceptional quality, independent technology, advanced management practices, and strong market competitiveness, enabling them to dominate the domestic market while rivaling global industry leaders.
Chen Zhang from the Standardization Division of the Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision: "Standards play a guiding role. By establishing these standards, many of our enterprises can benchmark themselves against them, refine their technologies, and ultimately enhance both the quality and technical level of their products—thereby further boosting the overall manufacturing capabilities of Taizhou."
